Location & Climate of Goa
Location
Goa is located on the western coast of the Indian Peninsula and separated from Maharashtra by the Terekhol River in the north, Karnataka in the south, the Western Ghats in the east and Arabian Sea in the west. Goa is located between the latitudes 15°48'00" North to 14°53'54" North and longitudes 74° 20'13" East to 73° 40'33" East.
The capital Panjim is at a distance of 592 km from Bangalore and 593 km from Mumbai. It is split into two districts-North Goa and South Goa. North Goa includes the capital city of Panjim, the former capital of Old Goa, Fort Aguada and Candolim, Chapora, Vagator, and the beaches Calangute, Anjuna, and Baga. South Goa beaches include Vasco da Gama Bogmalo, Margao, Colva and Benolem.

Climate
Being near to the sea, Goa enjoys a maritime climate and has a moderate temperature showing negligible variations in different seasons. May is the hottest month while January and February are the coldest. There is a prevalence of tropical weather rest of the year. Southwest Monsoon brings rain in Goa between June and September. July is the month that receives maximum rainfall while February gets least amount of rain. Tourists can plan their travel to Goa any time of the year. But the time to travel to Goa would be the peak of monsoons from mid July to late September and peak winters from November end to mid February.
