Palolem Beach in Goa
Visit Goa to experience its rich past and hospitality. Thus, when you next visit Goa, check out the Palolem Beach. Palolem, 2 km west of Chaudi, is one of Goa's most idyllic beaches. It has a crescent shaped bay lined with swaying coconut palms hemmed by a pair of rocky crags. The white sand beach in an arc is picture perfect. The village located nearby has several cafes and souvenir stalls catering to day-trippers who arrive in droves on sight-seeing tours of the beaches. Despite the commercialization, Palolem remains a traditional village, where the easy pace of life is dictated by the three daily rounds of todi-tapping.
From the neighboring state of Karnataka, Palolem is the nearest, reasonably well-known Goan beach. Many tourist visit Goa each year and every year the domestic tourists also multiply. Visit Goa 's beach of white sand facing a blue bay between two headlands. The little wooded islands on the northern headland look interesting and if you're interested, you can persuade one of the fishermen to ferry you across. They do offer to take you out to spot dolphins. Tourists have discovered Palolem when they visit Goa and so there are a few shacks selling seafood snacks, souvenirs and clothes of the shapeless, bright, informal kind.
How to reach
Palolem is just 3 km away from Canacona Railway Junction, now on the Konkan Railway. You can hire taxis and auto-rickshaws to reach Palolem beach from Margao, 40 km away. There are regular buses from Margao to Palolem that would drop you at Canacona village. Panaji, the capital, is more than 70 km away. When you next visit Goa, you may easily reach Palolem.

There are beautiful beach huts and family room to choose from in Palolem. Try to avoid the weekends to visit Goa 's Palolem beach, as there is a big crowd of picnickers who throng the beach on weekends.
